i used avast with spyware doctor for a while i didnt encounter any problems. shouldnt have any conflicts.

Avast tends to not like programs like Cain, even though I tell it to ignore it... I might have to switch back to avg...

I dont think that avast conflicts much with many programs, most of my friends are happy with it

Ya its strange that you are encountering problems.. usually avaast is good with those kind of things. however it is true that if u have too many av and spyware/adware defenders they can conflict.

I have found with some of my mates, when two antivirus' clash they typically dont protect the regestory and/or start up process information
